“Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.”

After running THKD for seven years, I tried to walk away, I really did.  But metal has gotten too safe, too complacent and too PC. Bands that couldn’t write a riff to save their lives and dress more like employees of Whole Foods than like heavy metal musicians are praised to the high heavens, while bands that live and breath metal are ridiculed.  Bands that attempt to deliver a shock to the collective system through their music/lyrics/actions are deemed offensive, while a slew of faceless, cookie-cutter whitebread bullshit bands are encouraged to thrive.

This will not stand.

THKD has returned to be a fist in the face of the metal community.  It will not conform to anyone else’s rules.  It will not act as a cheerleader for the big metal labels (although we will gladly cheerlead for worthy dad metal bands).  No subject is taboo.  No band or artist is persona non grata.

“Nothing is true, everything is permitted.”
